Transactions recorded on the blockchain cannot be reversed, and coins sent to a scammer or an incorrect address cannot be recovered. Anyone offering to restore stolen cryptocurrency is almost certainly a scam. Similarly, any message telling you that you are owed cryptocurrency but must first pay to release the funds is a scam. Report it to the police.

Where a wallet was deleted or corrupted, or the drive it is on is failing, that comes first: we create a read-only image of the drive and recover or repair the wallet.dat or keystore, carving it out of unallocated space or rebuilding its Berkeley DB structure as necessary.
After this, we determine exactly what there is to build on (a partial seed, a password pattern you recall or an old backup) and what has been lost.
With enough to work with, access is re-established: a partial BIP39 seed is completed from its checksum-valid combinations, or a password is recovered using a mask or dictionary attack based on your hints. We will never attempt to break the cryptography of a wallet you can neither describe nor prove you own.
We check the recovered wallet opens and that you, its owner, are in control, with your private keys and funds remaining yours throughout.
The recovered wallet and its access details are returned to you privately and securely, after which our copies are erased.

What people most often ask about cryptocurrency wallet recovery.
It depends entirely on what is left to work from. Where a wallet file has been deleted, corrupted or left on a failed drive, it may well be possible to recover or repair it, and part of a seed phrase or a password you can partly describe is often enough to get you back in. The one case nobody can resolve is a wallet that is truly gone with nothing left to build on, and we will tell you so rather than offer false hope.
No, and we want to be blunt about this. Once a transaction is on the blockchain it cannot be undone, so no reputable firm can recover coins that were stolen or sent somewhere else. When you see firms advertising recovery of stolen coins, they are usually the next scam waiting to happen. We only help owners get back into wallets that are their own.
Quite possibly, if a little memory of the password remains, such as roughly how long it was, a couple of its characters, or the type of passwords you typically choose. The keys in your wallet are encrypted with that password (a keystore, for example, uses scrypt and AES to protect them), so from your hints we build a mask or dictionary attack and test the candidate passwords against your file. A long password that you cannot remember anything about is a completely different story, and we would not say otherwise.
Usually. A few misspelt, missing or misplaced words is exactly where BIP39 comes in handy: the words come from a fixed list of 2048, and a checksum in the last word keeps the number of valid combinations finite rather than astronomical. We generate those combinations, derive their addresses and compare them with your wallets until we find the one that matches.
That is standard data recovery, and yes. The drive is imaged and the wallet.dat or keystore file is recovered from it, repaired where necessary and returned in a state you can open in your own wallet software with your own credentials.
Please don’t pass your full seed or private keys to anyone you can’t be certain of; a lot of cryptocurrency is lost this way. Recovering files does not require them at all. When we need to rebuild part of your seed or password, we set out clearly what is needed and why, while you stay in control throughout.

Often, when the device is yours and you still have the recovery seed: those words rebuild the wallet on a new device, so a lost PIN or a dead Ledger or Trezor rarely means the end of the road. A partly missing seed can often be rebuilt, but a completely missing seed leaves very limited options that depend on the device.
