Finance & professional services

Data recovery for finance professionals.

When an accounts server dies or a drive packed with client ledgers gives out — frequently at year-end or through tax season — you need it back quickly and held strictly private. Working from Guildford, our finance data recovery serves accountants, advisers and finance departments spanning Surrey and the rest of the UK — in-house, under NDA, with audit-ready paperwork. Your clients' records stay on UK soil throughout.

// what we recover

The financial data we recover.

From one bookkeeper's laptop to a partner-wide accounts server — all handled on our own bench, in strict confidence.

01

Accounts servers & RAID

Practice servers and RAID arrays carrying client files, ledgers and working papers. Each member disk is imaged read-only, then we reconstruct the stripe and parity and rebuild the array offline before recovering the file systems above it.

02

Accounts software data

Xero, Sage and QuickBooks files stuck on failed local drives — Sage's Pervasive or MySQL data files and QuickBooks' .QBW company file and .TLG transaction log among them — repaired so the software reopens them, not merely copied off.

03

Client records & ledgers

Tax records, ledgers, working papers and client databases across single drives and NAS units, recovered intact with the folder tree and file-system structure rebuilt.

04

Payroll & transactions

Financial archives, transaction histories and payroll data, taking in the SQL or flat-file back ends behind practice and payroll software.

05

Encrypted drives

BitLocker and other encrypted financial drives, opened where you hold the recovery key, password or TPM-bound credentials. The drive is imaged first and the copy decrypted — the encryption itself we don't break.

06

Financial databases

SQL Server and other financial databases — recovered and repaired, not just copied off.

// continuity & deadlines

Shaped around your deadlines.

Timing is everything in finance — a breakdown during audit, year-end or self-assessment can't sit and wait. Give us your deadline when you make contact and we'll prioritise the job with a straight turnaround up front. Three to four working days sees most recoveries done, and the engineer on your case speaks to you directly, with no call centre in between. We can bill your firm and accept purchase orders, with 30-day terms on established accounts.

// how it works

How it runs for finance.

The whole route from breakdown to a checked, private handover.

01

Get in touch

Phone or email us with the fault — we'll point out your safest first move.

02

Free diagnostic

Bring the disks in or post them insured; we'll establish what can be saved.

03

Written quote

You'll have a written price and an estimated turnaround before any billable work.

04

Recover & verify

Recovery happens in-house; we confirm the results and hand everything back on new encrypted media or a secure download link.

For a RAID, NAS or server: extract the disks, tag each by its bay position, and send the drives alone — each disk is imaged read-only and the set reassembled virtually, leaving your data untouched.
Invoicing and purchase orders for your firm are fine, on 30-day terms for established accounts. Physical and forensic work carries a 50% deposit toward parts and bench time.

// sending your device in

Two easy steps.

Send your device in for a free diagnostic and tell us a bit about what happened — an engineer reviews it and confirms your exact quote in writing before any work begins.

1

Send us your device

Recovering your data starts with getting the device to us. Pack it securely, slip your contact details inside, and send it in — once the free diagnostic is done, we confirm your exact price in writing before any work starts.

How to pack it
  • Box the device up in a small, sturdy carton or a padded envelope.
  • You can leave out caddies, cables and power supplies — none of them are needed for the recovery.
  • Pop your details inside — name, address, phone and email, on a slip of paper or via our shipping form — and seal it up.

// faq

Frequent questions.

Quick answers to what we're asked most.

Yes. An NDA covers finance clients at no extra charge; the work is carried out entirely by our own in-house engineers; and with ICO registration and GDPR compliance behind us, nothing you send ever leaves the UK.

Generally, yes. Failed local drives holding Sage (Pervasive or MySQL data files included), QuickBooks (.QBW plus its .TLG log), Xero exports, or the SQL back ends of practice software all come within reach — and we repair them so the package itself reopens the data, rather than just lifting the files off.

Yes — anything deadline-driven jumps to the front, and you'll get a candid turnaround at the outset. Three to four working days covers most recoveries.

Yes. A documented chain of custody — logging receipt, handling and return of your data — can be supplied for audit, regulatory or insurance use.

Yes — purchase orders and invoicing to your business are both fine, on 30-day terms once an account's established. Physical and forensic recoveries carry a 50% deposit, the rest settled on success.

Depends on the hardware: £300 for single drives, from £500 for RAID and NAS, from £500 for databases — each plus VAT, after a free diagnostic and written quote. No fix, no fee on most jobs.

Yes — our Guildford base serves accountants, advisers and finance teams throughout Surrey and the wider UK. Book a drop-off at the Guildford Business Park point, or post your device fully insured from anywhere in the country.
